The Tiger leaping gorge is approximately 100 kilometers from Shangri La, 80 kilometers from Lijiang. It seats in the northeast of Long-Pan county, about 17 kilometers long. Jade Dragon mountain (5596 meters) and Haba snow mountain (5396 meters) overlook this gorge from its south and north. The Jin-sha river cut through the terrains and forming up this gorge. On its bottom, the width is about 30-60 meters.

Day 1 Arrival Lijiang

Arriving in Lijiang by plane, your guide, driver will be awaiting at the Arrival-hall. Then you will be transferred to your hotel in the ancient town, check in. Your Tiger Leaping Gorge Hiking begins
In the afternoon we will explore the ancient town of Lijiang that one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, its history dates back to over 800 years. Then after we will observe and appreciate the Naxi people’s incredible skills and fine arts on architecture. Follow the stream in the old town we will reach the Black Dragon Pond Park, where the view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is spectacular.

Day 2 Lijiang, explore Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Baisha Bai peple village

Today we will begin our journey by heading to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. We will take local cable car to reach 3000 meter high on the mountain, you may feel altitude, and you will enjoy the great nature view. Then we will descend from this snow captured mountain, driving back to Lijiang, en-route, we will visit Baisha village, which is the original settlement and was the earliest political center of the Naxi people. We will enjoy the murals that has history over 1,000 years, those of which combines the cultures of the Chinese Han, Tibetan, Miao poeple, Bai people and Naxi people. You will find that murals tell the stories of Tibetan Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.

Day 3 Tiger leaping Gorge – the hiking begins

Today we will depart early, It takes about 2.5 hours drive from Lijiang to the Tiger leaping Gorge. En route, we will stop by to visit the 1st Bend of Yangtze at Shi Gu township.
Approximately around 10:30 am we will arrive at Chang-sheng village where the hike begins.It takes nearly 2 hours to reach at one Naxi people owned guesthouse, in which we shall have our lunch. Then after we will walk along the trail for another 2 hours to reach at the so called “28 – Bends”, which provides a unforgettable view. And then we will keep walking for about 2 hours to arrive at The Half Way Guesthouse. This is the place we will spend one night here.

Day 4 The 2^nd Day of Tiger leaping Gorge Hiking, to Lijiang

Suggesting to get up early for a morning sunrise view of Jade Dragon Mountain. After having breakfast, we will move out, en route passing through “Guan Yin” Waterfull, then crossing through the canyon to arrive at Tina’s Guesthouse, the hike may take 2.5 – 3 hours. From here we will hit the trail again with light bag, the trail becomes steep, we will descend along the cliff to approach Jinsha River bank, which becomes narrow and being regarded as the spot that tiger jumps over. We will return to the guesthouse to pickup our bags, and then by local vehicle getting to Xin-Cun village dock, boarding on local small boat crossing through Jinsha river to Da-Ju dock, where our vehicle will be expecting us, and then another 2 hours’ drive to return to Lijiang.

Day 5 Lijiang departure

Today, you tour ends, after hvaing your breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure (Transfer timing may vary, depending on your flight schedule)
