The Great Wall Hiking

Jiankou Mutianyu Great Wall Hiking is a very attractive hike on the great wall, which is regarded as the symbol of China. This Hike is from Jian-kou to Mu-tian-yu, which is considerably the most classic part of The Great Wall. It is with great nature view, and due to very less people visiting this area, hence this part of the Great Wall is also called “Wild Great Wall”. The total walking distance is about 10 kilometers. During this hike, some of the walks may have to jump off the great wall by following the trail along with it. The total walking hours could be 5 to 6 hours.

–Itinerary–

P-1: 07:00am – 07:30am Picking up at your hotel

Your guide will arrange the pickup time the day before this departure, since the guide and driver shall pick up different clients at different location, there might a little delay due to traffic…etc; please prepare your gear and belongings waiting at your hotel lobby

P-2: 07:30am – 09:30am Drive to the Jiankou Great Wall

Once we have collect all clients, we will depart from Beijing city, then drive to the Jiankou Great Wall. It usually takes 2 hours to cover this distance.

P-3: 09:30am – 14:30pm Hiking through the Great Wall from Jiankou to Mutianyu

Jiankou is located in located Huai-Rou County near Ba-Dao-He Village. It is thought to be one of the wild & challengable part of the Great Wall. Once we reach the end of the road we will load up your gear, please bring at least 2 liters of mineral waters and some snacks, cookies; We will start the hike from the parkinglot, crossing through the village reach and get on the Great wall which joint one of the path on the mountain ridge

Now we begin the hike on the great wall, follow the wall, we will walk about 10 kilometers, which takes 5 -6 hours, we will take few breaks en route. At first we will arrive at Zheng-Bei Watch Tower, which a ladder is necessary for climbing up. This tower is the ghihest one of Jiankou Great Wall, it is able to allow you look out at least over 30-40 kilomters; Then after we will descending the watching tower walking along the wall to Mu-tian-yu Great wall;

P-4: 14:30pm – 15:30pm Lunch break

We will arrive in Mu-tian-yu Great wall, where our hiking ends, we left the Great Wall behind us, and get to the Xin-shuang-quan restaurant or other qualified restaurant to have our lunch.

P-5: 15:30pm – 18:30pm Return to your hotel

We will use local transportation, minivan or bus to get off the Great Wall area, then walk another 3- 5 minutes to reach the parking lot, where our vehicle will expect us, then heading back to Beijing, due to busy traffic, the return journey may be much longer than the journey we came through
