European panda fans from London and Madrid just kick off a special self-drive trip to the “home” of the Giant Panda – the Sichuan Province of China on the same day of June 11th
A total of 12 panda fans selected from six European countries, of which are UK, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Austria, gather together with other cultural celebrities and reporters participating in this two-month long road journey from the west Europe to Sichuan province in the southwest of China. This journey is about 21,000 kilometers (13,000miles) across 14 countries along the Southern Silk Road.
It’s part of the large-scale tourism activity –“Travel the Southern Silk Road, Visit the Homeland of Panda-European Panda Fans Travel to Sichuan” — launched by the Sichuan Tourism Bureau in November 2014.
