Panda Tour

Panda Tour is to be held in Dujiangyan city, which is named after the ancient irrigation system in this small town, which originally built around 256 BC in Qin Dynasty as an irrigation and flood control project, and it is still in use today as well. The system’s infrastructure is on the Min River, the longest tributary of the Yangtze River. The area is in the west part of the Chengdu Plain, at the confluence between the Sichuan basin and the Tibetan plateau. The envirement is very friendly for tthe Giant Panda.
Dujiangyan Panda Tour is to follow “Panda Keeper Program” that Dujiangyan Panda Breeding Base has been working. This is indeed a good chances for people to get to know The Giant Panda. This unique One-day tour will provide you a chance to spend your time closely with the lovely creature – The Giant Panda, and even holding one of those with your arms to take a photo.

1. “Panda Keeper Program” is permitted by Dujiangyan Giant Panda Breeding Base, the program is subject to change;
2. An early booking (one week in advance minimum) is helpful to guarantee the seat on this program;
3. Sometimes the activities listed in the description will be adjusted according to unforeseen incident, such as illness of pandas.

–Itinerary–

7:00am – 08:30am

The guide will pick up you up at your hotel. Arrive at the Dujiangyan Panda Base. Preparing for the day program
Once you sign up at the reception, you will receive a work-dress, which could be a T-shirt with Dujiangyan Panda Base logo, gloves, and a volunteer card.

Your guide will introduce all memeber of today to the staff of Panda Keeper Program. Usually, the staff of The panda keepers program speaks simple English. and of course your guide will be with you in the entire visits assisting to translate and communicate with the satff of this program, and even taking photos for you during your experiencing this program

9:00am–10:00am

Clean the panda Cage, bamboo is the main food for the Giant Panda, usually it is suuplied 3 times a day. The leftover after eaten by Panda shall be needed to be sweep out, and also clean up the cage

10:00am–11:00am

Resting time

11:00am–11:30am

Feeding time, it is time to feed panda! A special-made cakes that is called “Panda-cake” together with apple, carrots will be provided to Panda as one nutritional meal. You will be instructed how to feed a panda with your own hands at close distance.

11:30am–13:00pm

lunch time, a simple Chinese lunch will be served.

13:00pm–14:00pm

To learn Panda, You will learn Giant Panda by watch one documentary movie that tells stories about Pandas. It takes about 40minutes.

14:00pm–15:00pm

Learn how to make “Panda-cake”.

15:30pm–16:00pm

You will receive one certificate of being a volunteer in Dujianyan Panda Base . Then after, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Todays’ program ends
